AMT-200 with Booster Kit

The AMT-200 with Booster Kit is an affordable, electric mosquito trap with extra CO₂. By combining scent, heat, light, and additional carbon dioxide, a stronger attraction signal is created for mosquitoes and gnats. Installation is simple: connect the plug, install the CO₂ cartridge according to the instructions, replace the scent about once a month, and empty the catch container as needed. 

The machine can attract insects from an area of up to approximately 1500 m², depending on placement, wind, and local conditions.

The booster solution is based on Swedish-developed, climate-neutral technology. The RA CO₂ Booster Kit is the link that enables the enhanced carbon dioxide supply.

How the AMT-200 with Booster Kit works

The AMT-200 Booster Kit mosquito killer attracts using:

• CO₂
• Scents
• Heat
• UV light

Having multiple lures in the mosquito trap is very important to attract the right kind of insects to the machine. If the machine only uses UV light as a lure, the catch will mostly be butterflies and non-biting insects. Additionally, you can complement it with a butterfly guard that prevents moths from being sucked down into the catch bag.

The machine uses photocatalysis with titanium dioxide (TiO₂). When the UV light is activated, a small amount of carbon dioxide is produced which enhances the scent's effect. It does not produce as much carbon dioxide as a gas-powered mosquito trap but serves as an effective complement in small to medium-sized environments.

With this booster kit, the effect is increased so more mosquitoes are caught than with just the AMT-200, more carbon dioxide is released, which improves the catch. When they come close enough to the trap, the powerful fan sucks the insects into the catch bag where they die of dehydration.

Inside the machine there is a heating element that the mosquitoes perceive as body heat. When the mosquito senses the warmth, it flies close enough to the mosquito killer to be sucked in by the fan.

The scent makes the difference compared to other mosquito traps

The biggest difference with the AMT-200 mosquito trap compared to simpler light traps is that it should be equipped with a scent tablet. The scent spreads around the machine at a slightly longer distance than the heat and attracts the mosquito to fly closer to the machine. Different species of mosquitoes are attracted to different scents; for the AMT-200 mosquito machine, three different Rapid Action scents are suitable:

• Black - Best suited for mosquitoes
• Green - Suitable for mosquitoes and gnats
• Red - Best for tropical mosquito species, e.g. floodwater mosquitoes, and also for warmer climates (Asia and southern Europe).

A Green scent is included when purchasing the machine.

AMT-200 Booster Kit is a good choice when you:

Details that make a difference

Eco-friendly mosquito machine

Since the AMT-200 Booster Kit runs on electricity, there are no fossil carbon dioxide emissions. A recommendation many want us to convey is to empty the catch to feed birds or fish so that the ecological cycle is completed. Add a butterfly guard if you want to minimize the risk of catching moths.

Multiple lures

The AMT-200 Booster Kit uses several different lure methods compared to many other electric mosquito machines. At the same time, a gas-powered mosquito trap is generally more effective when the goal is to quickly reduce a large mosquito population, as it produces a significantly stronger and more continuous carbon dioxide signal.

Low operating cost

Thanks to the low energy consumption (24.8 W) and no need for propane, the AMT-200 Booster Kit is a cost-effective and energy-efficient option for reducing mosquito populations over time.

Proper placement

Place the machine a bit away from the patio, as close to the breeding area as possible, for example near vegetation or moist areas. Correct placement is crucial – if the machine is incorrectly positioned, the catch may be low or non-existent. Replace the scent about once a month and check and empty the catch bag as needed.

Installation instructions – Booster Kit for AMT-200

The Booster Kit supplies carbon dioxide (CO₂) to your AMT-200 and enhances the lure effect by mimicking human breath. Uses standard 425 g / 60L CO₂ cartridges with threads (does not work with Quick Connect).

1. Install the CO₂ cartridge

   Screw the cartridge onto the regulator (threading underneath). Tighten by hand until you hear a "hiss", then continue tightening until it is silent.

2. Install the hose

   Slip the hose onto the nipple of the regulator and tighten the threaded sleeve. Insert the other end into the quick connector on the back of the AMT-200 (under the cap).

3. Open and adjust the flow

   Open the top valve fully clockwise and then turn back about ¼ turn. Open the fine adjustment valve (counterclockwise) until it starts to hiss.

   Check the flow by holding the hose end in a glass of water and count bubbles per minute:

   • 35 bubbles/min ≈ approx. 1 bottle/month
   • 70 bubbles/min ≈ approx. 2 bottles/month
   • For very large mosquito amounts: up to 100 bubbles/min temporarily

4. Place the bottle correctly

   The bottle should always stand or hang upright.

Ongoing maintenance

• Check bubbles once a week
• Replace bottle when empty
• Adjust flow when mosquito population increases or decreases

Other important information

• Follow the instructions supplied with the product. Never disassemble or cut open the Octenol cartridge itself (i.e., the hard plastic casing). Doing so risks direct contact with the Octenol inside the cartridge. Using it in any way other than specified here may cause higher concentrations which can be harmful and irritating.
• In case of ingestion of the Octenol substance inside the cartridge, immediately call the Poison Information Center or a doctor for advice. Have the person drink small sips of water.
• If the concentrated substance inside the cartridge comes into contact with your skin or eyes, immediately wash the skin or rinse the eye slowly and carefully with plenty of water.
• If a person inhales a high concentration of Octenol, provide fresh air and rest.
• Unused cartridges should be stored cool and dry.
