How Aquatain AMF® works
Aquatain AMF® is applied to standing water where mosquitoes usually lay their eggs. When the product is added, it spreads over the water surface and forms a very thin, silicone-based film.
The film changes the water’s surface tension and acts solely physically. Mosquito larvae and pupae cannot penetrate the water surface to breathe, preventing their further development. Mosquito eggs are also affected, and the water surface becomes unsuitable for new egg laying.
By breaking the mosquito life cycle at multiple stages, Aquatain AMF® prevents new mosquitoes from developing in treated water collections. The product acts preventively and does not affect adult mosquitoes, and should be used as part of a long-term strategy for mosquito control in standing water.
