How the Mosquito Magnet Executive Works

The Mosquito Magnet Executive mimics a human to attract blood-sucking insects. The machine converts propane gas into carbon dioxide - the same signals humans emit when we breathe and spend time outdoors. To increase attraction, it also uses R-octenol, complementing the carbon dioxide and making the machine effective against both mosquitoes and midges in Nordic climates. When the insects approach, they are sucked in by a powerful vacuum fan and transported to a capture net where they dry out and die.

Optimize Propane Consumption

The Mosquito Magnet Executive is equipped with a built-in temperature sensor that can be configured for automatic shutdown and restart. Since mosquito activity is usually very low when the temperature falls below around 10 °C, the machine can be set to enter standby mode at a selected temperature. When the temperature rises again, the machine automatically starts up again. This feature helps reduce propane consumption and makes the Mosquito Magnet Executive particularly suitable for continuous operation throughout the season without unnecessary energy use.

Other Important Information

• Follow the instructions provided with the product. Never disassemble or cut open the Octenol cartridge (i.e., hard plastic casing). Doing so risks direct contact with the Octenol agent inside the cartridge. Using it in any other way than specified here may cause higher concentrations which can be harmful and irritating.
• In case of ingestion of the Octenol agent inside the cartridge, immediately call Poison Control or a doctor for advice. Let the person drink water in small sips.
• If the concentrated agent inside the cartridge comes into contact with your skin or eyes, immediately wash the skin or rinse the eye slowly and carefully with plenty of water.
• If a person inhales a high concentration of Octenol, provide fresh air and rest.
• Unused cartridges should be stored in a cool, dry place.
